She also describes her vacation travels during that time in and around Ethiopia, and also to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. She visited several game parks and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Goodwin also writes about her interactions fellow college teachers, Peace Corps volunteers, and Ethiopians.
