Born 1931 in Missouri. AB in Chemistry and Physics, Cornell University 1951. Ph.D. Physics Princeton University 1955. Elected to U.S. National Academy of Engineering 1974. Nuclear Engineer, Engineering Manager, and General Manager of Westinghouse PWR Systems Division. President Westinghouse Nuclear International. Program Manager, NERVA nuclear rocket reactor. Manager, Westinghouse Underseas Weapons Department. President, Louisiana Energy Services through NRC staff approval of license to build centrifuge enrichment facility. Presidential appointment to U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board, 2004.
